Does Meijer Accept EBT On Instacart?
Yes, Meijer accepts EBT on Instacart. This might come as a surprise to you but Instacart is actually a part of a pilot run by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to accept EBT benefits online. Customers and shoppers with a valid EBT SNAP card in all states except Alaska, Louisiana and Montana can use their SNAP funds on Instacart at Meijer.
What Does EBT Buy At Meijer?
Valid EBT Snap cards can but household food at Meijer stores. Here are some of the household food items that customers can buy at Meijer stores using EBT Snap cards:
- Fruits and vegetables;
- Meat, poultry, and fish;
- Dairy products;
- Breads and cereals;
- Other foods such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages; and
- Seeds and plants, which produce food for the household to eat.
However, customers cannot use EBT Snap cards to make some purchases at Meijer stores. Here are some of the items that households cannot use Snap benefits to buy:
- Beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, or tobacco
- Vitamins, medicines, and supplements. If an item has a Supplement Facts label, it is considered a supplement and is not eligible for SNAP purchase.
- Live animals (except shellfish, fish removed from water, and animals slaughtered prior to pick-up from the store).
- Foods that are hot at the point of sale
- Any nonfood items such as:

How To Use EBT At Meijer
Customers and shoppers can use valid EBT Snap cards for in-store purchases at Meijer. EBT snap cards can be used at both cashiered lanes and self-checkout lanes. Buying using an EBT card is very similar to buying using debit and credit cards. All you have to do is swipe and insert your EBT card into the card reader at checkout. The EBT card will work for any qualifying purchases but you will need to split the payment if you are buying some non-qualifying items such as alcohol.
